Multi-colored, flickering lights line the streets and homes during the holiday season; mimicking shimmering clusters of stars draping over the night. Christmas bulbs strung together set the mood for the time of year that we have all come to know as Christmas. The roots of our tendency to decorate during the season can be traced back hundreds of years ago in our history.
