This piece of art is a blend between painting and sculpture. When I created it, it felt like I was icing an actual cake!

When I’m not painting, I work with personal training clients in my other business. I’ve experienced so many conversations about food and self-relationships with my clients, that I noticed a recurring pattern: we all feel worry around life and how we eat food.

We never feel like we’re being ‘good’ enough and it sends us into a spiral of self-doubt and self-sabotage.

This cake is a reminder that you’ll be okay no matter what. The most important thing is bettering the relationship with yourself, so that you’ll have a clearer perspective, which will positively impact your future decisions and actions.

Claudine is Filipina American living in Orange County, CA who, for over 27 years, has been creating pieces ranging from live sketches to acrylic paintings on canvas. She always felt compelled to create, from a toddler drawing on walls in her home in Manila, to an adult, painting murals in Costa Rica.

As her work as an artist evolved over the years, Claudine realized that art can come in different forms and is not limited to technical, rigid practices that she learned in formal education. The pressure of creating art in traditional forms slowly dissipated. Claudine found that creating intuitive, minimalistic paintings from nature & passersby is enough to convey joy and gratitude for the simple things!
