Mater Natura’ depicts the mirror image silhouettes of two women, standing symmetrically back-to-back, their bodies arched in a balletic pose. Agent X creates a layering effect, in which the outlines of the figures appear to have been cut from the print’s white background, revealing a richly coloured, Baroque-style, floral pattern behind. Sumptuously beautiful, and rendered with a deft lightness of touch, ‘Mater Natura’ beautifully captures the elusive nature of visual art.

Agent X is a digital artist who often combines the ephemera of the past with the glossy world of contemporary magazines and newspapers, adding paint and other mixed media to create images that cleverly critique humanity’s current obsessions and where they are leading us.

Currently based in Vancouver, Agent X has exhibited in art meccas around the world including Singapore, Los Angeles, Germany, London, Amsterdam, New York, San Francisco, Spain, and Toronto.
