‘It Is All About Us’ is a captivating graphite and mixed-media drawing that delves into the complexities of identity, and societal roles. The artwork depicts a group of youthful figures, without defined gender identity, posed like in an old class photograph.
Many of the figures wear masks that obscure or transform their identities, assigning them ambiguous roles that provoke curiosity about who they are—or who they might choose to be. The masks hint at themes of societal expectation, and role-playing. Four central figures are seated on chairs, one sits on the floor, and others strike confident, fashionable poses in the background. The “9E” placard held by the front-row characters anchors the scene in the context of a class photo but simultaneously disrupts its traditional meaning with the figures’ bold attitudes and striking expressions.
The figures’ twisted smiles, direct gazes, and dynamic postures create an unsettling allure, engaging the viewer in their untold personal stories. They exude a sense of confidence and charm, blurring the line between childhood innocence and a precocious awareness of how to navigate and manipulate the world.
Born in Messina, Italy in 1984, Giuditta’s exploration with art began during childhood, as her parents are both artists, where she became fascinated with graphite drawings.
Throughout Giuditta’s career, her contributions to the world have been recognized by prestigious institutions like Psychology & Counseling Associates, Aedra Fine Arts, and several across Italy. Giuditta is currently working and residing in Berlin, Germany while her work continues to gain international recognition.
