I remember how fascinated I was when I first learned about ‘The Rouen Cathedral series’ by Monet. I hadn’t known that light could change the colors so drastically that although it was the same place on different days, each painting was distinctively unique. Perhaps that was the moment I fell in love with landscape paintings. To paint and to see.
In this newest series, I wanted to capture special moments and places. Colored pencils were such a perfect medium to use. From the way light shed through lush green trees, how trails were filled with wildflowers after a very long drought, a warm afternoon in a historic town, early morning in the desert, and the beautiful Californian coast. Layer by layer, these came to life and I’m thrilled to share them with you.
