Elephants are very social animals and they enjoy the company of their families to an extent where it can be considered more than just friends, but rather like siblings as well! Just like those in human families, all animals within elephant communities look out for one another no matter what (even if they have disagreements). They will even mourn together when a member passes away from natural causes or through conflict with other animals. – Richard Alois
