‘Always Sunny In My Head’

Those who know me, know that Frida is my all time favorite artist. I find myself wanting to create many different works about her. Sunflowers are universally known to bring joy and happiness to all. As I sat down to start a new collage, I wondered how strong minded a woman must be to bear her lifelong physical pain and yet create the masterpieces she gifted to us all.

Maryam Sedadi was born in Iran and moved to the United States when the Islamic revolution broke out. After graduating with a B.A. in Business Management from California State University, Long Beach, she started her career in banking as a young single mother while caring for her family and raising her son.

Inspired by elements of her Persian culture and heritage, Maryam draws inspiration from daily conversations, observations, lifelong memories and journeys of her life.
