Meet Artist Boban
Boban Ilincic is an emerging fine artist from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Having grown up in a small countryside town, Boban’s rural lifestyle influences his landscapes, still life, and architectural paintings. His use of soft movement and vibrant color palette bring his pieces to life. Boban loves to explore and combine art techniques and primarily paints with watercolor and soft pastel. His love for art came at a young age. As a child, he always reached for pencils to draw, colors to paint, and objects to craft.
In 2019, Boban enrolled in art classes in his hometown of Gradiska and is currently a student at The Academy of Art in Banja Luka.
Boban admires realism and through his studies and practice, he strives to represent his surroundings genuinely through his art. He has gained recognition and established himself as a distinguished local artist, earning awards in multiple exhibitions.
A statement from Boban…
“My inspiration comes from daily life. I like to paint my surroundings, en plein air and in the studio. During my creative process, I use different techniques and materials while discovering new ideas and methods for painting. I mostly work with aquarelle(watercolor), soft pastel, and mixed media to juxtapose characteristics and texture.
My paintings capture moments of atmosphere, color, and mood. Every painting I make reflects my experience when I visit a certain place. For me, the purpose of creating and sharing artwork is to express a visual message of the beautiful things we find in nature. My paintings reflect peaceful moments in time, joy, happiness, and love.
Through art, we can create a relationship with people we don’t know and share the beauty in our lives. My message for everyone is, enjoy the process of learning and discovering new things.
Artist Interview – Boban
Boban shares his love of nature through art. He sees beauty in everyday life and paints as a reminder to appreciate all that surrounds us. Boban was interviewed by Nadin Said to tell us a little more about himself.
“How do you align with The Art Spread’s mission of inclusion and awareness?”
I was scrolling the internet when I found The Art Spread group. When I had read the home page of The Art Spread website, I knew that it would be nice to get in touch with them.
I’ve found that there are people in other parts of the world who have similar interest in art. Through my work I try to encourage other people to start painting and produce their own work.
“What message are you trying to convey in your work?”
Primarily, I try to spread the awareness about the creative process of art and how it is a fun and exciting process when you make your own artwork.
My favorite subject to paint is landscape, mostly because I love walking, being in nature, and peinting en plein air. I love animals and every day I spend a few hours together with two of my dogs.
Through my artworks, I try to share the sense of beauty, freedom, and feeling of joyfulness we all experienced when we were kids. I also want to share the beautiful images of land and places in my countryside and its surroundings to other people worldwide.
“What do you want The Art Spread supporters to take away from your work?”
Through my works, I would like to encourage other people to try to produce art, show it, and share it with other people worldwide.
I’m also willing to share advice and tips that I’ve found useful.
