This painting represents a long creative journey, spanning from a summer plein-air session to its completion in the winter of 2026. It was inspired by a trip with friends to a unique location—a deep ravine hidden among vast fields, like a secret underground world. Standing there, I was struck by the magnificent view of the sky that felt both immense and intimate.

The artwork captures the vibrant energy of that moment through rhythmic, flowing lines that mirror the winds of the ravine and the shifting clouds. It is a fusion of a real-life impression and months of artistic reflection, where the warmth of a summer landscape meets the contemplative depth of winter execution. This piece is not just a landscape, but a memory of discovery and the eternal rhythm of nature.

Oleksandra Malyshko is a Ukrainian landscape impressionist artist from Dnipro. Her path started in architecture, which gave her a sense of structure and rhythm. But today, when she paints, her main goal is simply to catch a fleeting moment of life, its movement, and its flow.

Living in Ukraine today, Oleksandra chooses not to paint literal images of explosions or war. Instead, she processes the reality around her through her intense use of red and fiery tones. This vibrant color and movement are her personal way of living through the state of war as an artist, finding life and energy amid the darkness.
