Meet Artist Azadeh
Her name reveals her identity. Azadeh, a Persian word meaning “Free Spirited”, describes her unrestrained passion for sharing the beauty of Life with all. She is a yogi-artist who admires nature, culture, poetry, and music. Born and raised in Tehran, received her BA of Arts degree at University of Art and Architecture. Since 1998 she participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Iran, Canada, and The U.S.
She uses different media for her art. Her works are presented on bronze, clay, canvas, wood, fabrics, and paper. In addition to manufactured paint, she also uses organic ingredients for coloring ideas; such as saffron, tea leaves, turmeric powder, lapis powder, etc. Organic materials are very inspirational to her considering they have been used in Persian paintings and calligraphy for thousands of years.
The ambition towards helping people physically, emotionally, and mentally motivated her to gain Yoga, meditation, and Pilates certificates. Currently residing in Southern California, she mentors individuals in finding balance, strength, confident and flow through art, Yoga, and Pilates. She introduces calmness and sobriety of life through her artworks and guided meditation sessions, and last but not least, she demonstrates serenity of spirit through her singing.
A statement from Azadeh…
We, humans, animals, and plants, all arise from the same Origin. All beings that we can see and the ones we cannot. Even the ones we do not know nor understand. We all stem from the same origin.
The Universe is made with growth, peace, and healing forces. The only way we can find peace and calmness, is to realize that we are one with these universal energies. Living in the moment, surrounding ourselves with nature, tasting all that revolves around us, and respecting Life and all its beings.
Ever since I can remember, I have been infatuated with Nature, Art and Poetry. My enthusiasm towards life and its beings has helped me understand and improve my work. People are in difficult times right now, fighting wars, struggling with economic depression, battling with mental and physical issues, raising our future, and hoping that tomorrow will be a better day than today. Every moment there is flash of thought running through the human psyche. We all need peace and calmness.
I find peace in doing art, meditation, and being in nature. Nature has healing powers. Getting out in nature helps our mental and physical health. My works reflect the momentary glimpses of a nostalgic memory, or a sense of blessing inspired by nature that shapes an idea in my soul. The images and forms in my pieces appear freely without intent. I am merely a medium between mind and canvas.
